In 2007 Cristiano became the first player that could win every four major FWA and PFA awards. The next year he won the UEFA Champions League with his club Manchester United where he was awarded the highest goalscorer, the best forward for the tournament and also won European Golden Shoe. He is in fact the first winger to win this award. He also topped the award for Golden Boot in the Premier League. He was named World Soccer Footballer of the Year, FIFPro and becoming FIFA World Player the same year. This made him to become first United's player that won the Ballon d'Or in 40 years.
He became the first player that won FIFA's Pukas Award, this is an honorary award given to best goal of a season. As a result of his goal scoring attitude he however won the European Golden Shoe award again and became the very first player that won the award in two different leagues.
